Appointed to the Trenton School Board in 2011, Jane Rosenbaum is the proud product of New York City’s public schools: for kindergarten and the elementary grades, Washington Height’s PS 169 and 46 and Hamilton Height’s PS 129 and then for grades 7-12, Hunter College High School (whose graduates include Pearl Primus, Elena Kagan, Cynthia Nixon, and Lin-Manuel Miranda).

Dr. Rosenbaum earned her BA in English from the City College of New York and went on to receive a Ph. D. in English from the University of Pittsburgh. She has taught literature and composition to college students for more than four decades and has been a member of Rider University’s English Department since 1978.

Since becoming a Trenton resident in 1977, Jane has been actively engaged in the life of the community and served for many years as her neighborhood association’s president, as a member of the city’s Rent Stabilization Board, and as a Trustee of both the Trent House Association and the Trenton Museum Society. She currently serves on the board of the New Jersey Capital Philharmonic that is in its 4th year of performance at the Trenton War Memorial.
