Grant Elementary School was built in 1938. The original part of the building reflects the main structure. The "new wing" as it was called, was added in 1967. It consists of classrooms with observation booths (one way see-through glass) and lavatories.
Grant School has a current enrollment of approximately 560 students which include regular and bilingual classes as well as perceptually impaired, multiple handicapped and communication handicapped classes. The school houses pre-school handicapped classes, Pre K classes, along with grades kindergarten through grade five.
Specialists include a full time art, music, physical education, librarian, computer, guidance counselor, nurse, parent liaison, speech teachers, ESL teachers and numerous paraprofessionals.
