HAITI AWARENESS PROGRAM

JANUARY 2010

Mr. Maurice, the principal of Franklin School came to Gregory School and shared his experiences and the effects of the January 14 earthquake on the people, and nation of Haiti. He encouraged our students to take advantage of the opportunities within their community and the nation to excel in their educational pursuits.  Gregory School has joined communities across the nation to support the cause of the Haitians.

F.A.S.T. with Gregory and Monument

Science Bowl
April 1, 2006
Gregory School competed in the Middle School Science Bowl. The event was hosted by the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab and sponsored
by the Department of Energy. The students competed in rounds of academic competition as well as racing a hydrogen fuel car. The 6th
graders were Melissa Barclay and Sean McJunkins; 7th graders were Miachaune McJunkins and Salif Yoda. They placed 3rd in the
fuel car cellcompetition with the 3rd fastest time; 4th in the academic competition which combined had them in 2nd place overall.
They also won the Good Sportsmanship Award. A great day for Gregory's first time in the competition! Great work for faculty
advisors: Mrs. Houghton, Mrs. Franko, Ms. Nosal, and Mr. Feehan in getting the students ready for this great day!

Earth Day Participants - Recycled Art Sculpture Project
Mrs. Rice and Mrs. Horton made a commitment to the environment through participating in the Mercer County Environmental Contest 2006.
The class placed second for their recycled art sculpture project. The students received T-shirts and trophy. The students created
a checkerboard game using lunch trays and juice containers from the lunchroom. The students learned about colors,
patterns, and how to work as a team.

Mother's Day Plant Sale
Every year, Mrs. Lizotte and her students conduct a plant sale with the proceeds going toward a class trip. Mrs. Lizotte orders Petunias, Ivy, Impatiens, Begonias, and Geraniums.
