“Physical Education is a part of the total educational process; Physical Education helps students develop the knowledge, attitudes, skills, behaviors and confidence needed to be physically active for life, while providing an opportunity for students to be active during school.”

The goal of Physical Education is to develop physically educated individuals who have the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of healthy physical activity. A quality health education and physical education program promote each student’s optimum physical, mental, emotional, and social development. Effective programs are grounded in scientifically-based research and public health knowledge. They are student-centered and utilize multiple learning theories and models to support and promote health-enhancing behaviors. As a result, students are empowered to develop and demonstrate increasingly sophisticated knowledge, skills, attitudes, and practices.
