Closed Wednesday, March 21

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area that is in effect from this evening through early Thursday morning.  In an effort to maintain the safety of our students and staff Trenton Public Schools will be closed tomorrow Wednesday, March 21, 2018. This includes all professional development, after-school activities and athletic activities. All District early childhood centers will also be closed. We will continue to monitor the progress of the storm, please continue to check the website for updates.

El Servicio Meteorológico Nacional ha emitido un aviso de tormenta de invierno para nuestra área que está en vigor desde esta noche a mañana jueves.  En un esfuerzo por mantener la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes y personal de las escuelas públicas de Trenton, el distrito cerrará mañana miércoles, 21 de marzo de 2018. Esto incluye todo desarrollo profesional, actividades extraescolares y actividades atléticas. También se cerrarán todos los centros de primera infancia del Distrito.   Continuáremos, siguiendo el progreso de la tormenta.  Por favor continúe informándose de noticias actualizadas por la página web del Distrito.

Lucy Vandenberg is the Senior Program Officer for The Fund for New Jersey, which works to improve the quality of public policy decisionmaking on the most significant issues affecting the people of New Jersey.

She previously served as the Executive Director of PlanSmart NJ, a statewide non-profit research and planning organization that advocates for smart growth. She has a broad background in land use planning, community development, housing, and urban revitalization. She is a licensed professional planner. Lucy Vandenberg formerly served as a Planning and Redevelopment Aide in the City of Camden. Previous to this, Ms. Vandenberg was the Executive Director of the NJ Council on Affordable Housing (COAH) from 2003 until 2010, where she supervised a staff of 25 and worked with municipalities to provide their fair share of affordable housing under the Mt. Laurel Supreme Court decisions. Earlier in her career, she served as the Senior Policy Advisor for housing and urban revitalization in Governor James E. McGreeveys administration. From 1997 to 2002, Ms. Vandenberg worked in the non-profit sector, serving as the Associate Director of the Housing and Community Development Network of NJ, a statewide association of affordable housing and community development organizations working to build communities.

She has an M.S.W. in policy and planning from Rutgers University and a bachelors degree from the University of Michigan.

Ms. Vandenberg is chair of the Trenton Green Team and has been a resident of Trenton since 1999.
