Assembywoman Visits Washington

Women's History Month

Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson-Coleman, the first African American and the first women to hold the position of Majority Leader in the N.J. State Assembly, stopped by Washington Elementary School to speak to the students about the importance of reading and studying to get an excellent  education.

She made an agreement with the students; read at least  two books during the summer and she will give them a pizza and ice cream party in September. The students enthusiastically agreed to the challenge!
