A Letter from the First Lady!
After creating banners and viewing
President Obama’s inauguration on television, Miss Papero’s
second grade students wanted to write a letter to Sasha Obama,
since she is also in second grade. The class brainstormed
ideas and wrote a class letter in booklet form, complete with
illustrations. A week later they mailed the booklet. The
children hoped that they would get a response of some sort.
Happily, on May 18, they did. An envelope from the White House
arrived at
Washington
School. Enclosed was a
personalized letter to the class from Michele Obama. She also
included autographed photos of herself and the President! The
students were thrilled, to say the least. It was project they
will never forget! |
