My Professional Code of Ethics

All students can learn and have the right to a good education. This statement reflects my belief that anyone -- regardless of age and ability -- can and should be given the opportunity to learn. As an educator I realize that children learn at different rates and through different modalities depending on their individual circumstances, therefore school practices should reflect the fact that all children can learn and attain high academic standards, but will vary in the amount of time they need to learn and in ways in which they learn best.

I have always been very serious about the responsibilities that surround the position of an elementary school principal and I think deeply about the impact that I have on the students, staff and community. As the instructional leader of Columbus School, I bring caring, sincerity, trust and understanding to the students, teachers, and parents who are part of the educational community that I serve with the purpose of helping them to be the best that they can be.

  • My professional code of ethics is outlined as follows:
  • Always have the best interest of the students in the forefront.
  • Provide a thorough and efficient education to all children who attend this school.
  • Ensure differentiated teaching is incorporated into all lessons.
  • Maintain a safe environment conducive to learning.
  • Allow for diversity within the school.
  • Incorporate the school's mission, values and rules as part of the school culture.
  • Encourage students, parents and teachers to work together for a common cause.
  • Make a profound effort to be firm, fair and consistent when making decisions.

I will humbly uphold this code of ethics and allow it to guide me as I continue to make decisions that effect so many lives.

                                                                                                  Sincerely,

                                                                                                  B. Lynn Robinson, Ed. D.
