Content Literacy Information Consortium includes links to content areas, instructional strategies, and much more.
Country Reports is an excellent and comprehensive online reference website that provides lots of content area text organized within a database.
KidNews is a free news and writing service for students and teachers around the world. Anyone may submit a review, journalism piece, short story, poem, sports critique, real life accounts, opinions, or advice to fellow kids.

CyberSurfari: a bi-annual free, fun and safe Internet treasure hunt with lots of prizes. Contests begin each year in October, February and June and students can play individually or as a team from school or home. DiscoverySchool has wonderful educational resources for students, teachers and parents, all in one place.

Teach Me 123s and other counting games by FunSchool
Find it in the Preschool list of activities. TIP: When you complete the first activity, click the blue arrow at the bottom of the screen to get another.

Number Matching Click the Sound button to hear a number. Click the arrows below the picture to get the correct number. Then click the equal sign to see if you are right
Counting on a Cloud Follow the directions that automatically pop up. It will say, "Click a thingy" then "Click a number" to see that many. Too easy? - there is a second level at the very top left corner - click the tiny number 2. On level 2 you have to click the correct number of thingies on the clouds.

Doubles. Level 1 listen for the target score. Click once on the dart and once on the board outside the number you would double. An Instruction button and Teacher Options button are offered. Print option at the end of the activity.

"Watch Addem" button on the side menu for fun, interesting math stories. FUN! Allow it to load, and then click the Play button. A Stop button is available if you want to stop the story and try to solve the math problems, then click Play again to see if you're right. "Square Bashing" demonstrates subtraction and checking.
