How to Apply:
Out of District Employees
All instructional and administrative applicants
must apply on-line.
Non-instructional applicants may apply on-line or
may submit a paper application obtained from the Human Resources
Department by calling 609-656-4900, ext. 5695 or 5705.
Current Employees
Instructional & Administrative
Apply on-line. Note:
Once an on-line application is completed, you can apply for
numerous vacancies simply by attaching the application to the posting
number. The application may be updated, and a resume and current
references may be attached.
Non-Instructional
Employees are encouraged
to apply on-line. Once an online application is completed, you
can apply for numerous vacancies simply by attaching the application to
the posting number. The application may be updated, and a resume and
current references may be attached.
A paper application will
be accepted.
References
Three (3) references will be required and must be
submitted with the application. References may be uploaded along with
the application or forwarded to the Human Resources Department at 108
North Clinton Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08609.
A reference from the current, most recent employer
is preferred. Prior to an offer of employment, a reference from the
current, most recent employer will be required.
Student teachers: References must include the
Supervising Teacher, the Cooperating Teacher and a college professor.
Acknowledgement of Application
All on-line applications are immediately
acknowledged upon completion of the on-line application.
Applications are acknowledged via receipt, if hand
carried. Applications that are mailed or faxed, are acknowledged in
writing.
Job Postings:
All vacancies are posted at
www.trenton.k12.nj.us and at all TBOE buildings. Applicants
selected for interview must apply no later than the deadline on the job
posting. Vacancies are also posted on the job posting boards in the
Human Resources Department.
Selection for Interview:
Only applicants who submit a completed application
will be considered for interview. A completed application includes:
application: 3 references; copies of certification or license; if
appropriate; resume (required for instructional and administrative
applicants/preferred for non-instructional applicants). Applications are
screened and applicants are selected for interview based upon
qualifications and references. Applicants selected for interview are
scheduled by the Human Resources Department. Follow up letters are sent
to all applicants interviewed.

What Happens Next?
The following are required if you are hired:
- Criminal History Background check:
Fingerprints are processed by Sagem Morpho. Directions are
provided by the Human Resources Department.
- Physician’s Statement of Health: Required
are a Mantoux test and a complete physical. Paperwork is
provided by the Human Resources Department.
- Proper identification (Current Drivers
License, State or Military identification).
- Social Security card must match the name
on the picture identification.
- Certified applicants must provide original
certification(s).
