Help your students become engaged in word problems and open-ended questions by:
· Personalize the problem by using students’ names in your class. You can change them for different classes.
· Create a problem that uses a situation that has occurred in the school or will occur in the future.
· Use places that your students may visit (mall or stores).
· Make up fictitious places or people.
