Objective: Students will be
able to evaluate polynomials with two or more variables.
Visit
http://www.scenta.co.uk/tcaep/astronomy/planets/index.htm to practice using
scientific notation. The Internet site includes many statistics on each planet
and its satellites. Choose two planets to compare volumes and masses. For
example, Earth's mass is listed as 5.9736 X 10 (to the 24th power) kg, and
Jupiter's mass is 1,896.6 X 10 (to the 24th power) kg. Calculate the difference
and then put the answer in proper scientific notation form.
