Area of a Circle

Use overhead transparency and make grids with varying size
squares. Put them over a picture of a circle for the one
with the largest squares to the smallest. Count the squares.
As the squares get smaller you get more accurate
estimations. You're teaching estimation and the beings of
calculus (limits). Then divide each area by the square of
the radius see if you get closer to pi.
