What kids can do:
Practice math facts with every jump! Give each child a jump rope and head out to
an open space. Lead children in a steady jumping rhythm with a bounce between
each jump. Then start this rhyme (every line is two jumps): “Jumping facts/
jumping facts/ jumping to numbers/ means jumping fast!/ Let's start with the 2s
(or any single-digit number)/ 2 + 1 jump! (the child jumps three times fast with
no bounce)/ 2 + 2 jump! (four times fast)/ 2 + 3 jump! (five times fast)” etc.
