Roll-O Bingo

Objective

Students will use probability as a game strategy.

Materials

  • bingo chips
  • 2 dice
  • bingo card (click for printable card, press "back" in your browser to return to this page)
  • graph grid for caller to record the sums rolled

Method

  • This game is for 2 - 6 players, one will be the 'caller.'
  • Fill your bingo card with numbers from 2 to 12. You can use any number as many times as you want. You don't have to use every number.

  • The caller rolls 2 dice, adds the numbers, then marks an X above this number on their grid(eg: If a 3 and a 4 are rolled, the caller marks an X above the 7.).

  • When the caller calls out the sum, place a bingo chip on a square matching that sum. If you don't have that sum, don't place any chips.
  • The first person with five squares in a row: vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, calls out "BINGO!"
  • The caller check out the winning numbers against the numbers on their grid.
  • To better predict winning rolls for your next game, study the caller's grid.
