Traversing a Network
Objective: Students will be able to explain the concepts
of networks and traversable networks.
Activity-Have students discuss with family members the routes they take to and from various places, such as work, the mall, the grocery store, the health club, and so on. Together students and their family members might draw the routes presently taken, identify why the route is taken, and plan alternate routes. Have students share the findings with the class. Are family members using the shortest routes or taking routes that provide scenic interest or avoid congested areas?
