Welcome to Essential Technology Tools for Trenton Teachers (ETTTT), an on-line tutorial guide for educators in the Trenton Public School District.

What's in this tutorial?
This ETTTT tutorial website is designed to help Trenton educators more fully use the technology-rich environment that we enjoy in our school district.  It is our hope that with these basic tutorial lessons within each module, you will better understand some of the applications that are on our classroom computers. We further hope that you will then take your new found understanding and begin to create wonderful, technology-integrated activities with your students.

These are the components of the ETTTT website:

  • Windows 2000 Professional Basics
  • Microsoft Word 2000 Basics
  • Microsoft Excel 2000 Basics
  • Extension Activities
  • Webliography

The tutorial lessons offer self-guided activities to help you use each Microsoft application as both a teaching tool and as a productivity tool. The Windows 2000 Professional tutorial will take you through the basics of using the mouse, logging onto the network, customizing your desktop, working with the taskbar, and using keyboard shortcuts. You will be able to construct a lesson plan template upon completion of the Word tutorial and you will create a grade book to use in your classroom after you work through the Excel tutorial. You may start with any tutorial that is of interest to you.

During your coursework, you are encouraged to communicate with the author of each module.  Their email links will be provided within each module, as well as from the link "Contact Us"  at the top of this page.

As a prerequisite to completing these tutorials, you are expected to know how to include an attachment with your district or home email application.  For each of the tutorial modules, you will email a copy of your completed assignment to the module creator for assessment.  If you are unclear as to how to attach a document, contact one of the module creators before you begin the tutorials. You may also send a hard copy (paper copy) through school email to the module creators.

If at any time you have questions about the coursework, perhaps something is not clear, or you may want some additional extending exercises, contact the module's creator.  They will be happy to assist you.

We would appreciate receiving your feedback as to how we can improve these modules.  If there are other topics you would like to see added to the unit, please let us know.

So now, it's time to begin.  Choose one of the tutorial modules and begin ! ! Good luck and enjoy yourself.  We hope they meet your personal and professional needs.
