Welcome to our instructional unit's first module  -- Windows 2000 Professional.  As you work through the three modules in Essential Technology Tools for Trenton Teachers, we hope that you increase both your level of comfort and your level of skill in utilizing your classroom computer equipment.

We will start by covering some of the very basics of the Windows 2000 Professional operating system.  On the menu bar to the far left are the lesson topics that will be covered in this module.  It is suggested that you complete them in the order provided;  however, you are welcome to move around the tutorials as you choose.

Objectives of this Tutorial:

R   The student will understand how to proceed within each element of the tutorials.

R   The student will understand that they will submit their work to the module creator at the end of each practice assignment.

To help you work through these Windows tutorials, we suggest the following:

1st     Print the directions before you begin.

2nd    Some of the lessons will require you to advance through multiple

screens.   Watch the navigation links at the bottom of each screen to

determine whether you need to go to the "Next Page" or "Next Lesson".

(If you are going through the tutorials in the same order as the sidebar

to the left, then you will most likely use "Next Page" for the most part.)

When in doubt, use the "Back" button on your browser.

3rd    Follow along with the screenshots and directions to understand the

         different elements.

4th   Whenever you see this icon  there will be a helpful tip or directed

steps to help with your understanding of Windows 2000 Professional.

5th    Whenever you see this icon   you will have a chance to try out the

steps on your own. The sun indicates it's time for you to practice

independently.  You may want to do the practice right after each

tutorial section so that it is fresh in your brain.

(It is definitely a good idea to print out these sections.)

6th     To receive a certificate of completion, you must submit your work to

the module creator for assessment. Complete the assignment for

assessment within each module and email  ** them to the

           MODULE CREATOR.

** It is preferred that you submit your work via email, but if necessary, you may send a hard copy on paper through school or U.S. mail to the module's creator.  See the "Contact Us" link above for more information.
