Celebrating Dr. Seuss' Birthday !

Ms. Korpita-Moses' 1st grade class is participating in a modeling and mentoring project.  They are learning how to use Kid Pix Deluxe 3 to create stories to supplement their Kid Writing program.  Their stories are stored in a slide show to share with their parents.

The 4th graders in Ms. Hill's and Mrs. Albright's classes were very brave----they ate green eggs and ham! ! !  Why????  To celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday on March 2nd, of course ! ! !

A Very Special Visitor

A Promise made...A Promise Kept ! ! !

The Cat in the Hat surprised us all when he entered the gym while Ms. Henderson was reading his story.  Just like that, on page 5, in walks the Cat ! !  The Cat was very quiet, and VERY TALL ! ! !  He had "One Fish" with him and stood with each class to have their pictures taken together.  We are very glad that the Cat came to visit Monument School ! !  Thanks Cat !!

If you were looking for Dr. Lytle on Thursday, April 28th, you wouldn't find him on North Clinton Avenue in his 3rd floor office.  Why?  You would have to go to Monument School.  He spent the WHOLE day as the kindergarten substitute for Terri Dresser.  Thursday was her wedding day, and he made a promise to her during TEA negotiations.  He taught reading, and phonics, organized center time, and went out to the playground for recess.
