The Crisis Intervention
Counseling Services offers intervention and prevention service programming
for students, parents and families that are in a crisis mode by offering
clinical counseling services in an effort to resolve conflicts promptly and
effectively.
It offers an extensive
range of mental health and advocacy services in addition to providing family
therapy and mental health resources referrals. Some of the issues addressed
are related to child abuse, family violence, incarnated youth, gang
activity, suicidal ideations and traumatic loss.
The Crisis Intervention
Counseling Services provide training in Emergency Preparedness/Crisis
Response Teams in an effort to assist the school and community to resolve
the emotional aftermath following a traumatic event in addition to the
development of a crisis plan, coordinate crisis teams, and counseling.
It provides educational
training programming to school staff and community groups in order to
respond appropriately to crisis events to minimize personal trauma and the
threat of contagion among youth.
