Ms. Terri Kelly, CSAC, CAC

Safe and Drug Free School Staff

Terri Kelly has been the district’s substance awareness specialist for sixteen years. Prior to that, she was a student assistance counselor at Trenton Central High School.

Terri received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Millersville University. She has attended graduate school at Chestnut Hill College and Millersville University.  In 1988, she obtained her certification as a Certified Addictions Counselor, and later in 1993 was certified in New Jersey as a substance awareness coordinator.

Terri has had extensive experience in the field of addictions and chemical dependency.  For many years, she worked as a drug and alcohol therapist in a residential/outpatient facility in Pennsylvania.  She was Trenton’s first substance awareness coordinator and laid the groundwork for Trenton’s first Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools.  Terri is a member of the Trenton Municipal Alliance Committee, the Trenton Youth Services Commission, the Local Advisory Council to Safe and Drug-Free Schools and the District Crisis Response Team. 

 

 

 

Mr. Marc Freeman, CSAC, MSW

 

Marc Freeman has been a Certified Substance Awareness Counselor for 14 years, and has worked at Trenton Central High School for the last 12 years.  He is also a certified school social worker in New Jersey. 

In addition to his responsibilities as a SAC, Mr. Freeman also a member of several Intervention and Referral Service teams  He is the chair of the TCHS Crisis Response Team and a member of the Local Advisory Council.

Mr. Freeman is an award winning author, webmaster and creator of the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools web site. 

Mr. Freeman earned a bachelor of science degree in Media Communications from East Stroudsburg University, and a Master of Social Work degree from Temple University.  He is currently completing his Master of Divinity/Master of Social work degree at Palmer Theological Seminary.

 

 

 

Ms. Carla Thomas, CSAC, CSW

 

Mrs. Carla Thomas is the Substance Awareness Coordinator at Hedgepeth-Williams School. She has been the SAC at the school for six years.  In addition to her responsibilities as a SAC she is also a member of the Local Advisory Council, the Crisis Response Team, the School Management Team and the Intervention and Referral Service team.

Mrs. Thomas is a graduate of Rider University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology.  She is a certified Substance Awareness Coordinator, and a Certified Social Worker for the state NJ. Ms. Thomas is currently attending Farleigh Dickinson University where she will obtain a master in Administration Science.

 

 

 

 

Ms. Yvonne Vaughan, CSAC,

 

 

Ms. Yvonne Vaughan has been a Substance Abuse Counselor for the last 7 years.  She previously worked at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School.  She is currently the SAC at Dunn Middle School.

In addition to her responsibilities as a SAC, she is also a member of the Local Advisory Council, and the Intervention and Referral Service team.

Ms Vaughan graduated from Lincoln University with a Masters Degree in Human Services.  She is a certified Substance Awareness Counselor in New Jersey.
