***Take the VPA Career Interest Survey.*** The Visual and Performing Arts Small Learning Community at TCHS believes in fostering the academic success of each student. Creating a true “learning
community” for our students means: As we deliver our standards-based
curriculum through multiple mediums—including arts and performances—we
teach students valuable life skills: In supporting students through a rigorous academic journey, performance and artistry serves as a method for gauging learning in our community. High standards and expectations often lead to the quality artistic products; however the creative process will be the focus of our efforts. Creating and creativity requires a process—one that is unique for individuals and not the same time after time. During the process of trial and error; laughter and frustration; creation, destruction and recreation learning and knowledge is acquired. The creative process encourages critical thinking, self-reflection, passion and participation from all involved. How better could a “learning community” come together to fulfill its educational goals? |
