INTEL TEACH TO THE FUTURE PROGRAM

The Intel Program is designed to train classroom teachers on how to expand their creativity by integrating the use of computers and other evaluation tools into their existing curriculum.  By mastering the techniques taught teachers are then able to spark student interest to use the computer for research, publishing and communication.  Nine teachers participated in the forty hours of hands-on training at Stokes;  four from Stokes and five from Cadwalader Elementary Schools. 

 

 

Creative Writing Using ibooks

Mrs. Cekoric's reading group as part of their ninety minutes of SFA Reading enjoys writing stories using the ibook .

 

 

 Learning Kar2ouche at Stokes  
Mr. John Ferro from TechKnow Associates instructed teachers and students from grades 3-5 in the use of  Kar2ouche which is a creative animation software program.

 

DADS (DADS ARE DOING SOMETHING)

DADS FOR EDUCATION is a national program of men (fathers, grandfathers, uncles, cousins, brothers and other men). It is governed by five key elements. The program's focus is to volunteer in individual schools as an effort to fulfill the mission of the school district.

 

MENTOR POWER

The Mentor Power Program visited Stokes on April 26.  Student mentees with the support of their mentors presented a variety of environmental projects to our students.  Senator Rush Holt along with an official from EPA was here to present a check to Maureen Quinn the coordinator of this program.

 

 

 

BRONZETTES, INC.

The Bronzettes is actively involved in all community activities which promotes a better society and extend charity wherever it's needed. The all women organization visits Stokes regularly as part of their reading program  to listen to our children read.
